The three pools at the New Leisure Centre will create an offer that appeals to the whole community.

The 25m Main Pool will have six lanes and a depth profile of 0.9m – 2m. It will be programmed for lane swimming, general swimming, school and club hire.

The New Leisure Centre will include a four court sports hall along with a balcony viewing gallery for spectators.

The sports hall will become a multi-functional space serving a wide range of users. This will include local Volleyball and Basketball clubs as well as community sports clubs.

The New Leisure Centre will have a significant Health & Fitness offer.

The 783m2 gym will be kitted out with a wide range of CV, resistance and functional exercise machines.

There will be a 233m2 innovative indoor climbing experience that is different to traditional climbing in that it offers a safe introductory route to climbing without the need for instructor belay of every participant.

There is no minimum or maximum age, with children able to take the challenge when they are physically capable of climbing. The features take the challenges and health benefits of climbing, mixing them with the fun and colour of a theme park and include elements that:

• Develop problem solving skills
• Have educational value

The 3G pitches will support the many sports activities that will be based at the site.

There will be three 3G 5-a-side football pitches built on the Section 106 Public Amenity Land. The pitches will each be 35m x 25m and benefit from floodlights to ensure maximum usage. The pitches will be for community use, external hire and sports development courses.
