The provision of a new community stadium for the city of York has been a council priority since 2003.
It is an identified priority with the Council Plan 2011-15, to support the council to build strong communities by providing more and better opportunities for leisure and culture for the people of York.ABOUT THE PROJECT >
The business case demonstrated that it would be possible to develop a community stadium that is cost effective and commercially sustainable.
In July 2010 a business case for the community stadium was submitted to the Council Executive. The executive were also asked to consider four possible locations for the community stadium as part of the business case.
